At Azalina's, we are passionate about delivering an unforgettable dining experience that pays tribute to the rich culinary heritage of Malaysia. Our journey began with Chef and Owner Azalina Eusope, a fifth-generation street food vendor who moved to San Francisco over a decade ago. Despite the distance from her homeland, Azalina found comfort in the flavors and aromas of her childhood, and she began cooking for her family and friends.

Word of her delicious home-cooked meals soon spread, and Azalina's hobby eventually turned into a business in 2010. Since then, we have been dedicated to serving authentic Malaysian cuisine that captures the essence of our cultural heritage. Our restaurant, located at 499 Ellis St, San Francisco, CA 94102, offers a reservation-only, four-course tasting menu that showcases the diverse flavors and ingredients of Malaysia.

Chef Azalina Eusope

Chef Azalina Eusope is a talented pastry-trained chef who has been recognized for her culinary skills. In 2009, Bon Appetit magazine named her one of the "10 Top Upcoming Chefs" for 2010. She was also honored by Women's Initiative for Self Improvement for being an "Enterprising Woman on the Rise" in 2012. In 2023, Azalina's restaurant was listed in the New York Times' top 25 places to eat in San Francisco.

Azalina hails from Penang Island, a historically rich island trading hub on the western coast of peninsular Malaysia. As a member of the Mamak community, she is deeply tied to spices and renowned for her curries and street fare. Her family grows their own spices and is well-known for their culinary expertise.
