Learning is Play, and Play is Learning
Meeting House Nursery School, nestled in a historic Frank Lloyd Wright building, has been a cornerstone of Madison's early childhood education landscape since 1949. For over seven decades, we have nurtured the curiosity and development of generations of children through a dedicated commitment to play-based learning. We believe that play is not merely a form of entertainment, but a powerful tool that unlocks a child's natural potential for growth, exploration, and discovery. Our dedicated team of educators, passionate about fostering a love of learning, guides children on an enriching journey of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Our Philosophi
At Meeting House Nursery School, we are guided by a deep belief that children learn best through play. Our carefully crafted curriculum is designed to weave together a tapestry of exploration, discovery, and creativity, allowing children to learn at their own pace and in their own unique ways. We embrace a warm and nurturing environment that celebrates each child's individuality, encouraging them to express themselves freely, build meaningful relationships, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Programs for Every Stage
We offer a range of programs to meet the diverse needs of young learners, ensuring that each child receives the individualized attention and support they need to thrive.
Our Two-Year-Old Program lays the foundation for social and emotional development, focusing on fostering independence, self-help skills, and early social interactions.
Our Three-Year-Old Program builds on these foundational skills, encouraging exploration through imaginative play, creative expression, and hands-on learning experiences.
Our 4K Program, an approved MMSD 4K community site, provides a structured and developmentally appropriate learning environment that prepares children for the transition to kindergarten. We focus on language development, literacy skills, early math concepts, social-emotional preparedness, and fine motor skills, ensuring children are equipped for success in their formal schooling journey.
Beyond our core programs, Meeting House Nursery School also offers enriching Camp Meeting House experiences during the summer months, providing opportunities for outdoor play, creative expression, and exploration.
We understand that families have diverse schedules and needs, and our flexible Extended Programs offer extended hours and additional learning opportunities to accommodate those needs.
