Welcome to Julie H. Gillen, LCSW Therapy and Counseling. I am an experienced psychotherapist in Raleigh, NC, working collaboratively with my clients to effectively seek solutions to the challenges that bring one to therapy. My approach is insight-oriented and informed by psychodynamic principles, remaining sensitive to the unique needs of each individual. I believe that everyone deserves a fulfilling life, and I am here to help you achieve that.

Therapy Services

Psychotherapy or counseling can benefit those who are in the midst of a crisis as well as those who are struggling with long-standing problems and patterns. I have experience helping clients with a wide range of issues including worry, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem problems, life transitions, stress, parenting support, disordered eating, family dysfunction, codependency, adult child of an alcoholic, women's issues, loss and grief, divorce, peer relationships, and LGBTQ+ issues.

About My Background

I received my Master's of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina in 1995. Since then, I have worked as a therapist (LCSW, NC license # C002977). My style is warm, interactive, and collaborative. Together, we clarify what you want to achieve or understand, explore your relationships, and observe, identify, and change patterns that are undesirable. Your increased self-awareness allows you to express yourself in a more effective, healthy, and genuine way, resulting in more fulfillment, connection, and joy.

Rates and Insurance

My rates are $135 per 55-minute session. Payment is accepted in check or cash. I participate in-network with some managed care plans and file out-of-network for others. Please feel free to discuss your coverage with me and also check your coverage carefully with your insurance carrier. A minimum of 24 hours advance notification is requested to avoid being charged for a missed appointment.
