Connecting Seniors, Enriching Lives

Founders Hall is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a diverse program of social, educational, and physical fitness activities for seniors aged 60 and above. Our mission is to create a warm, fun, and stimulating atmosphere where members can connect with others who share similar interests and engage in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Our History

Founders Hall was founded in 2002 by the Founders Hall Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization established by the families of Elaine and John Couri and Liz and Steven Goldstone. The foundation aimed to create a new standard for senior recreation and education by combining a state-of-the-art facility with a caring staff and an exciting curriculum of classes and activities. The foundation located the building on Danbury Road in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and opened Founders Hall in 2002. Today, the center is overseen by a board of directors and managed by an executive director with a staff of eight.

Our Programs

Founders Hall offers a wide range of programs and activities to cater to the diverse interests and needs of our members. Our programs include:

  • Art and Creative Expression: Our art classes offer a variety of techniques and mediums for members to express themselves creatively, including drawing, painting, and sculpture.
  • Fitness and Wellness: Our fitness classes and programs cater to all levels of fitness, from yoga and Pilates to strength training and dancing.
  • Academic and Technology: Our academic and technology programs provide members with opportunities to learn new skills, such as computer coding, language classes, and genealogy research.
  • Trips and Social Events: Our social events and trips offer members the opportunity to connect with others and explore new places, including local day trips and international travel.
  • Health and Wellness: Our health and wellness programs focus on promoting physical and mental well-being through seminars, workshops, and one-on-one consultations with healthcare professionals.
  • Seminar and Workshops: Our seminar and workshop programs offer members the opportunity to learn from experts in a variety of fields, including healthcare, finance, and personal development.

Our Staff

Founders Hall is led by an executive director, Grace Weber, who has been with the organization since 2003. The center is also supported by a staff of eight and a board of directors who work together to create a warm and welcoming environment for our members.
