At Classical Pilates in Sonoma, we believe in the power of Pilates to transform both the body and the mind. Our founder, Julia, discovered the method after a friend suggested it as a way to get in shape. However, she quickly realized that Pilates offered so much more than just a physical workout. After practicing regularly for two years, Julia decided to become an instructor herself, driven by a desire to share the benefits of Pilates with others.

Julia completed The Advanced Teacher Training Program at a licensed teaching studio for The Pilates Center of Boulder, CO in 2016. Since then, she has taught in San Francisco, Marin, and now Sonoma. Most recently, Julia completed The Pilates Center's Master's Program, an additional 116 hours of training. Through her years of experience and dedicated study, Julia has become an expert in the Classical Pilates method.

At Classical Pilates in Sonoma, we offer a variety of services to help our clients achieve their fitness goals. We believe that through regular practice, anyone can develop their body, mind, and spirit, leading to overall health and well-being. Our services include:

Studio Private Sessions

Our private sessions are tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. All sessions include a prepared lesson plan and post-lesson note taking to track progress. Through regular private sessions, clients can expect to grow in strength, flexibility, balance, and body-mind awareness. We recommend multiple private sessions per week or one-on-one sessions combined with class for the best results.

Online Private Sessions

For those who prefer to practice from the comfort of their own home, we offer online private sessions. These sessions include prepared lesson plans and post-lesson note taking, just like our in-person private sessions. Clients will use items they have around the house, including any small pieces of exercise equipment they have, such as hand weights.

Online Mat Classes

Our online mat classes focus on a combination of fundamental skills and level-appropriate mat exercises. Space is limited to 8 participants and each client can expect to receive individual attention and modifications based on his or her unique needs. These classes are a great way to supplement private sessions or to practice on your own.
