At Northminster Preschool, we are proud to have been a cornerstone of the Clairemont and University City communities for over 50 years. Our Christian and play-based preschool is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where children aged 2 - 5 can learn and grow through play and artistic expression.

Why Preschool?

Preschool is a crucial time in a child's development, providing a wide array of experiences that help prepare them for Kindergarten or Transitional Kindergarten. Our Pre-K / Pre-TK program focuses on public school readiness, including pre-reading and writing skills, working independently, and developing important social skills. Our small class sizes, with a maximum of 15 students and 2 teachers, allow us to give each child individualized attention, helping them gain the confidence they need to be more successful in public school.

At Northminster Preschool, we offer a range of benefits that set us apart from other preschools. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of each individual child, with a variety of daily play-based activities and experiences that promote creative expression in arts and crafts, games, songs, math concepts, language, science activities, and large and small muscle development activities.

In partnership with parents and teachers, we strive to meet the social-emotional development of each child by building strong relationships and connections to aid in their social, spiritual, and emotional growth. Our large campus boasts two age-appropriate playgrounds and plenty of outdoor space for children to play and develop their gross motor skills.

We offer Half Day and Full Day schedules with flexible Extended Care drop-off and pick-up times. Our hours are as follows: Half Day Hours: 9:00am - 12:00pm; Before Care: 8:00am - 9:00am; Lunch Bunch: 12:00pm - 1:00pm; After Care: 1:00pm - 4:30pm. We follow the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) vacation and school closure schedule.
