Our specialties include custom houses, adaptive reuse of historic structures, barn conversions, new construction, seamless additions and renovations, and estate design. We are dedicated to creating designs that are simple, honest, and timeless, while incorporating current construction practices and technologies. At Pickell Architecture, we maintain a deep respect for historic building styles, traditions, and practices, and combine these with a sensitivity to local conditions, the social and natural environment.

Our Team: Small Firm with Big Skills

Pickell Architecture is a small firm with a team of highly skilled professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional architectural services. Our principal and project architect, Christopher Pickell, AIA, earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1985 and is a registered architect in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Chris has extensive experience in custom residential design, adaptive reuse of historic structures, commercial work, and projects for local non-profit organizations and governments.

Oliveiros Ferreira, Jr., RA, NCARB, is a registered architect in the state of New Jersey and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Oliver has worked on numerous high-end residential projects throughout the state and has a keen interest in how vernacular and indigenous architecture continues to be relevant in modern design.

Keith J. Muldowney is a designer and draftsman with extensive experience in drafting and design tasks for a corporate engineering firm. Keith is pursuing his first ambition of historic preservation through architecture and has a particular interest in the preservation of railroad and steam locomotive technology.
