Brief History of Krav Maga
Krav Maga, which means "contact combat" in Hebrew, was developed in the 1930s by Imrich "Imi" Lichtenfeld, a former boxer, wrestler, and gymnast. As a young man, Imi was a member of a Jewish self-defense group in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he honed his skills in repelling fascist and anti-Semitic attacks.
In 1940, Imi immigrated to Israel, where he began teaching his martial art to the Israeli military and law enforcement communities. Over the years, Krav Maga has evolved into a highly effective self-defense system, emphasizing simplicity, efficiency, and practicality.
Today, Krav Maga is practiced by millions of people around the world, and is widely recognized as one of the most effective self-defense systems available.

Our team of experienced instructors is led by Shawn Kovacich, a certified Krav Maga instructor with over 35 years of experience in the traditional martial arts. Shawn is a highly respected figure in the Krav Maga community, known for his expertise in both Krav Maga technique and practical self-defense applications.
In addition to Shawn, our instructors include a diverse group of experienced martial artists and self-defense experts, all of whom share a passion for Krav Maga and a commitment to providing the highest quality training to our students.
