Our Story
Welcome to Middleton Preschool, a warm and friendly place where young children can explore, experiment, express ideas and feelings, and develop and grow. Our child-centered preschool and 4K curriculum is designed to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. We recognize that every child is unique and has their own learning style, interests, and abilities. Our experienced and dedicated teachers create an environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and self-expression.
Our Philosophy
At Middleton Preschool, we believe that children learn best through play. We incorporate "free play" into our curriculum because children develop many of their social skills, and even academic skills, through play. Playtime also provides an opportunity for teachers to observe children's interactions, which helps us understand each child's strengths, weaknesses, and learning needs. By observing each child, we can tailor our instruction to meet the individual needs of each child.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to foster the development of physical, cognitive, and social-emotional skills. We strive to create an environment that encourages creativity, provides new and exciting learning experiences, and supports each child in developing a positive self-concept. Our program includes:

Outdoor Classroom
As a result of COVID-19 protocols and the desire to stay open for preschool families, we developed an outdoor classroom and curriculum. Our teachers have seen many benefits to outdoor learning and are excited to continue utilizing our outdoor classroom mindset, even as COVID-19 cases subside. Our spacious outdoor area provides a direct connection with nature and fresh air while we play and learn. We have our own class garden, an outdoor circle time area, and picnic tables. We also partner with gardeners in the community garden next to our school for additional learning opportunities.
