We are passionate about the Pilates method and its proven ability to help people overcome the many challenges that life and aging can throw at them. At Pilates Boise, we believe that Pilates is a method of exercise that can be adapted to all ages and fitness levels, with a particular focus on the active aging adult female body.
Our Services
At Pilates Boise, we specialize in customized private sessions with a nationally certified Pilates teacher. Our sessions are designed to help you actively age with confidence, develop better balance, improve movement patterning, enhance flexibility, alignment, and posture, and continue post-rehab exercise. Our sessions are tailored to meet your individual needs and goals, and we are committed to helping you develop better core and overall strength. We are dedicated to providing a positive and supportive environment that will inspire and motivate you to achieve your fitness goals.
Meet Our Owner
Kelly Ianson, the owner of Pilates Boise, is a nationally certified Pilates teacher with a passion for helping people improve their quality of life through the Pilates method. Kelly completed her Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates instructor training in 2016 under Jessica Gradhandt at Thrive Physical Therapy and Pilates studio in Boise, Idaho. She has been involved in the fitness industry for the last 31 years and holds a B.S. Degree in Physical Education with a Health Promotion emphasis from Boise State University. Kelly discovered the benefits of Pilates after suffering from chronic low-back pain due to incorrect movement patterns and poor posture. She became motivated to teach others how Pilates can help them improve their quality of life and reduce pain. She particularly enjoys working with the active aging body and addressing the challenges of remaining active and moving for this population.
What to Expect
If you are new to Pilates, we understand that it can be intimidating. At Pilates Boise, we strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all of our clients, regardless of their fitness level or experience with Pilates. During your first session, we will begin with a discussion of your current goals and health history. Most likely, we will start moving with some Pre-Pilates and beginning level exercises to assess your movement patterns. The Pilates method is designed to work from the inside out, so be patient. With your commitment and consistency, you will see and feel results. You will feel longer, stronger, more balanced, more confident, be able to move better in your body, and see a marked improvement in your activities. Pilates consists of many tactile cues to bring your awareness to alignment, muscle activation, or area of focus. Please let us know if you are uncomfortable with tactile cues.
Our Facility
Our studio is open Tuesday & Thursday by appointment only. We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean and safe environment for our clients. Our facility is equipped with the latest Pilates equipment, including the Reformer, Tower, Chair, props, and accessories, to guide your movement. We are committed to providing our clients with a unique and balanced full-body workout each session.
