The Children's Garden Preschool, established in 2004, embraces the magic of early childhood by offering a nature-inspired, play-based learning environment for children ages 2 1/2 to 5. Located in Southwest Durham, our school fosters a community where young minds can blossom and hearts can grow.

Our Vision

Inspired by the Waldorf educational philosophy, we believe in providing young children with a warm and nurturing first step away from home. Through outdoor play, natural crafts, bread baking, imaginative play, storytelling, songs, and seasonal celebrations, we nurture their innate curiosity and foster a love for the natural world.

Our Rhythms and Rituals

Our daily rhythm fosters predictability and a sense of security. We start each day with outdoor exploration, then engage in a variety of activities throughout the morning, including:

• Weekly rhythm: Baking, gardening, woodland walks, cooking, artistic projects, and more.
• Seasonal festivals: Celebrating the changing seasons with special events and projects.
• Snack rhythm: Providing nutritious and delicious snacks made with fresh, whole foods.
