Founded in 2019, New England Functional Fitness is the brainchild of two passionate individuals who share a love for strength training and physical therapy. Our expert trainers facilitate highly-effective and evidence-based training programs that emphasize biomechanics and anatomy, ensuring our clients receive the most effective and safe training possible.
At New England Functional Fitness, we understand that fitness is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Matt started his fitness journey at this very facility in 2014 as an Exercise Science Intern from Springfield College. With a degree in Applied Exercise Science, a certification in Strength and Conditioning, and expertise in strength training, Matt delivers exceptional training sessions that emphasize appropriate biomechanics and form.
*Natalie Hamel, ACE Certified Personal Trainer, TPI Level 1, BFR-C Orthopedic Exercise Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Certification Coach*
Natalie is a highly accomplished strength and conditioning coach with nearly a decade of experience. She has worked with a wide range of clients, from D1 athletes to the geriatric and general population, assisting them in achieving their fitness and wellness goals. With a focus on orthopedic exercise, Natalie helps clients recovering from various injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, ensuring personalized programs that promote safety and effectiveness.

Julie brings extensive training experience, dating back to 2015, and is an athlete at heart. She is dedicated to helping clients achieve their fitness objectives through a variety of training settings. Julie's academic background, certifications, and experience allow her to deliver the highest quality training sessions, incorporating effective and safe training protocols tailored for individual needs.
