Williamstown Community Preschool is a private, non-profit corporation that provides a safe, caring environment for children from 15 months to 12 years, offering a range of programs including toddler, preschool, and school-age services. The preschool is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and its staff are certified in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as a requirement of the EEC. The preschool follows a child-centered approach, focusing on child-directed activities, and encourages children to develop social skills, problem-solving skills, and a sense of self-worth. The preschool also offers a literacy program, Fundations Pre-K Literacy Program, which supports children's emerging understanding of the alphabetic principles of letter-sound associations and alphabetical order, and the written language skill of manuscript letter formation.
