My Weekday School

At My Weekday School, we have been providing excellent education and care to children in Lexington, Massachusetts, for over 55 years. Our history dates back to 1961 when members of the Lexington Methodist Church wanted to sponsor a kindergarten program in their brand-new education wing. The church aimed to offer a high-quality, affordable education to children in the community. This vision led to the establishment of Methodist Weekday School in September 1962.

Initially, the school operated as a private kindergarten program, which later expanded to include a preschool program to cater to the growing needs of the community. When Lexington Public Schools introduced a kindergarten program, our school adapted by dropping its private kindergarten program and focusing on providing preschool programs for children aged 2 years 9 months to kindergarten.

Today, as My Weekday School, Inc., we continue to build upon this rich history by emphasizing excellent teaching, beautiful classrooms, and inspiring programs for children of all cultures, faiths, and walks of life. We pride ourselves on being a happy and engaging place away from home where children can grow and develop in a nurturing environment.

Our Programs

We offer a range of programs to cater to the diverse needs of our students. Our Preschool program is designed for children aged 2 years 9 months to 4 years old and runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The program includes classroom time, outdoor activities, and a focus on helping children become comfortable with daily routines and transitioning between activities.

The Pre-Kindergarten program is for children who are eligible for kindergarten the following year. The program runs from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and includes lunch, as well as a focus on pre-academic work in math, literacy, and science. This program builds on what children have learned in the preschool program and prepares them for the demands of kindergarten.

Teaching Assistant Training Program

At My Weekday School, we recognize the importance of experienced and trained teachers in shaping the minds of our future generations. Our Teaching Assistant Training Program is designed to provide aspiring educators with the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality early childhood education.

Classrooms

Our classrooms are designed to provide a stimulating and engaging environment, with a range of activities and resources to support the learning and development of our students. Our Orange Class, Green Class, Yellow Class, and Red Class each have a unique atmosphere and learning opportunities tailored to their students' needs.

We welcome applications from families seeking to enroll their children in our preschool and pre-kindergarten programs. Our Admissions process includes an application process and rate sheet, which provides information on tuition, fees, and other relevant details.
