Our Story
Our story began in 2005, when our founder Sam Abrams started training athletes, kids, and grandparents in Palo Alto, California. Sam's passion for fitness started as a high school soccer player, where he hoped that lifting weights would transform him into an elite athlete. Although it didn't quite work out that way, he learned a lot about how the body works and went on to study human movement further. After college, Sam's struggles to fully recover from sports injuries inspired him to study human movement, and he eventually became a full-time trainer. With a background in international relations and a passion for fitness, Sam created The Well, a unique fitness center that focuses on individualized training and lifestyle coaching.

- Private Coaching: Tailored programs coached with exacting detail, ideal for new clients and those with complex histories.
- Semi-Private Coaching: Tailored programs executed alongside up to three other clients, great for increased socialization and more experienced clients.
- Lifestyle Coaching: Collaborative strategizing to help you make lifestyle and nutrition changes to support your goals.
- Remote Coaching: Private or semi-private training conducted by video call, perfect for those who need more flexibility or have the right equipment to meet their goals.
