Fairview Preschool

Welcome to Fairview Preschool, a Christian-based preschool located in Fairview, North Carolina, just a short drive from Asheville. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children ages 2 to 5, where they can grow, learn, and thrive. Our experienced and certified teachers, led by Director Chris Lance, are passionate about creating a developmentally age-appropriate, hands-on learning environment that fosters intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development of the whole child.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a structured environment that encourages children to learn through their own interactions, guided by Biblically based thematic learning units. We strive to meet the following objectives: foster self-esteem, allow children to develop at their own pace, provide opportunities for self-expression, encourage investigation and participation in group activities, increase independence, promote health, physical growth, and motor development, and prepare children for elementary school.

Services

At Fairview Preschool, we offer a range of services designed to meet the unique needs of each child. Our customized curriculum incorporates elements from Montessori and Waldorf educational philosophies, creating a structured environment that encourages learning through play. Our daily activities include independent quiet activities, computer learning, Bible lessons, music, thematic learning lessons, group games, listening activities, snack and lunch time, outdoor play, fine and gross motor development, and large indoor play space. We also offer special events throughout the school year, such as Bike Day, Circus Week, and Harvest Feast, which reinforce our theme of learning-as-fun and encourage parental involvement.

Learning Centers

Our learning centers allow children to choose from a variety of educational options, encouraging exploration and creating a positive, fun attitude toward learning. We offer a range of learning centers, including discovery/science, art/crafts, computer/iPad, numbers/math/charting, letters/writing center, large dollhouse, community car/train/transportation, clay/playdough, home living/dramatic play/dress-up clothes, puppet stage, water play/outdoor exploration, and library/book reading center.

Field Trips

We believe that field trips are an essential part of the learning experience, as they enhance and reinforce what children learn in the classroom. We organize regular field trips to local attractions, such as the NC Arboretum, Handbell Performances, Fairview Library, WNC Nature Center, local farms, and area parks.

Registration

We are now accepting registrations for the upcoming school year. Fairview Preschool offers both two-day and three-day options, with classes meeting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
