Empower your body, empower your mind.
The Pilates Experience: Strength, Stability, Stretch, and Stamina
Welcome to Providence Pilates, where we are dedicated to empowering individuals to connect mind and body and be their best, healthiest, and strongest selves. We believe in the classical Pilates method, a form of fitness that is suitable for all ages, body types, and fitness levels. Our workouts are tailored to meet each individual's needs and goals, with a focus on strength, stamina, stability, and stretch.
At Providence Pilates, we offer private classes in four languages: English, Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese. Our team of experienced instructors is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment, where every client can feel comfortable and confident.
What is Classical Pilates?
Classical Pilates is a method of teaching the Pilates method that stays true to the style and routine as Joseph Pilates taught. At Providence Pilates, we reference black and white photos, film clips, and his students to obtain information about his teaching methods. We follow the teachings of Romana Kryzanowska, who was chosen by Joseph Pilates to carry on his legacy. In 1998, she created the first Teacher Manual, so future generations would have actual documentation of the work.
At Providence Pilates, we teach the Classical Power Pilates method. Our instructors are trained in the Classical Method, and we use apparatus that stays true to the dimensions and specifications of the equipment used by Joseph Pilates. Our reformers, for example, have four springs with the same tension, up or down for the foot bar only, and three or four gears. We believe that using the Classical Method and equipment allows us to provide the most authentic Pilates experience.
Why Choose Providence Pilates?
At Providence Pilates, we are more than just a studio. We are a community of individuals who are committed to living a Pilates lifestyle. Our instructors are experienced and dedicated, and they are passionate about helping clients achieve their fitness goals. We offer a variety of classes and private sessions, so clients can choose the option that works best for them.
Our clients often tell us that Pilates has taught them so much about their bodies, their minds, and their physical connections. They appreciate that Pilates is a lifestyle, not just an hour workout or a day of work. At Providence Pilates, we believe that Pilates can help individuals become more aware of their bodies, improve their posture, and reduce stress.
