We are a classic Pilates studio with a touch of west coast flair. Our studio offers a comfortable, motivating, and inspiring environment where you can unite your mind, body, and soul through a comprehensive workout designed to refine and condition all layers of your body. We believe in movement that is stretching, strengthening, lengthening, twisting, spiraling, energizing, and invigorating to the body. Our services include Private Pilates, Semi-private Pilates, and Reformer classes, all designed to help you achieve a balanced and strong body.

The History of Pilates

Joseph Pilates developed this unique and effective series of exercises and movements over 90 years ago to battle rickets, asthma, and a frail body. He served as a nurse in World War II and began attaching springs and pulleys to his patients' hospital beds to aid in rehabilitation. During his lifetime, he worked with a wide scope of clients over many years, utilizing specialized apparatus. These were later streamlined and modified to create what we now use for the Pilates method today, including the Reformer, Cadillac, and Wunda Chair.

Pilates Training and Benefits

The Pilates method of conditioning has evolved quite a bit since the 1920s, but the essential fundamentals remain the same. The Pilates method focuses on attention to detail, no matter which series of exercises one performs. Proper posture, good physical alignment, core stabilization, refined mental focus, a balance of strength and flexibility, grace, and fluidity are among the many elements that this workout demands and delivers. The Pilates method is a user-friendly workout for every type of athlete, from the serene to the extreme. Learning and applying this technique will add new levels of awareness, longevity, and promote total body balance.
