Welcome to Hoop Art, where we believe in the transformative power of hoop dance. Our mission is to create a welcoming, well-planned, safe, and nurturing environment for students of all ages and skill levels. We strive to facilitate a calm and creative space where students can learn, connect, move, and play. Our teaching philosophy goes beyond sharing a few tricks; we aim to empower our students to develop their unique hoop dance style and voice.
Meet Your Instructor
Hello! I'm Natasha Kapesis, a passionate hoop dance coach. My journey with hoop dance began as a fun activity that quickly turned into a lifelong passion. I was inspired to share the joy of hoop dance with others, and I started teaching family, friends, and anyone who wanted to experience the magic of hoop dance. I have dedicated myself to continuous learning, exploring new ways to connect and move with a hoop. I am excited to bring this passion to Hoop Art and help you discover the benefits of hoop dance.
Classes
At Hoop Art, we offer a variety of classes designed to meet the needs of our students.
- Kids Hoop Dance Class: This creative and fun class for kids (age 7+) helps children develop motor skills and coordination, maintain balance and incorporate flexibility, strengthen their core, grow attention and motivation to master new physical activity. Kids will learn dancing with a hula hoop, explore body-mind awareness, find freedom and movement through hoop dance.

- Hoop Dance and Fitness: Designed for new and intermediate hoopers, this class teaches you to hoop on different parts of your body, on body + off body moves, transition techniques to achieve your hoop flow. It builds core strength, improves posture, tones your body, lifts your spirit, and burns calories in a fun and playful way. Short sessions of 3-4 classes will be offered during the season and posted on our Facebook page Be Hooper Be Happy.
Events
Hoop Art provides various event services, including children's parties and activities, festivals, fundraisers, workshops, hoop jams, and hoop craft parties where you can build/design your own hoop. These events take place at your venue, and we tailor each event to fit your needs. Please contact us for availability, cost, and details.

Hooping is more than a fun way to exercise. It offers numerous benefits, including a head-to-toe core workout, improving your spine's strength and flexibility, being good for your heart, enhancing coordination and motor skills, strengthening patience, relieving stress, boosting confidence, bringing people together, reconnecting you with your inner child, teaching us to face challenges, and generating good mood and happiness.
Hoop Care
To ensure the longevity of your hoop, follow these care tips:
- Don't squish or squeeze your hoop.
- Don't leave it in hot places, like sitting in your car in the sun.
- Don't leave your hoop on a lawn for too long.
- Don't play with a taped hoop in the pool.
- Store your hoop in a cool place, lying flat.
- Should your hoop lose shape, leave it in a warm place for a bit and try to reshape it with your hands.
- Hooping on concrete, gravel, and asphalt can scratch your hoop and damage the tape, but it can always be retaped.
