Janet Welsh's Story
At the age of 19, while pursuing a career as a professional dancer, our founder, Janet Welsh, suffered a severe back injury that left her with a fracture at L4, lower back weakness, sciatica, and a broken vertebra. Despite the recommendation of fusion surgery, Janet opted for traditional physical therapies, studies in Feldenkrais technique, and relentlessly searched for ways to stay out of pain and do what she loves. Through her deepest stretching and precision strengthening exercises, Janet gradually integrated fitness concepts, including Pilates, Yoga, Dance, and core training. This magical mixture of muscular training, stretching, and movement mechanics resulted in Core Flow - a unique, non-impact, no-strain fitness program that promotes physical freedom, optimum mobility, and inner grace.
Over the years, Core Flow has attracted a diverse group of followers, from young adults to baby boomers and from athletes, dancers, and fitness enthusiasts to those trying a group fitness class for the first time. Core Flow has helped many people improve their physical fitness, strengthen their core, increase balance, enhance posture, and even address specific physical issues. Now, through expanded online classes, Core Flow DVDs, and custom training programs, Core Flow Fitness is proud to offer its unique fitness system to an even wider audience.
Our Services
Core Flow Fitness provides a variety of services to help you achieve your fitness goals:
1. Core Flow Classes: Our group fitness classes are currently available at the Claremont Club and Spa - A Fairmont Hotel in Berkeley, CA, on Wednesdays at 10:00 am. These classes are open to club members, hotel guests, and spa attendees. We are also excited to offer Core Flow classes via ZOOM, You Tube, and Facebook in 2021.
2. Private Sessions: Core Flow Fitness offers private sessions via ZOOM and Face Time for those who prefer one-on-one instruction. Private sessions are priced at $75 per session. Contact janet@coreflowfitness.com for more information or to schedule a private session.
3. Core Flow DVD Boxed Set: Our 2-disc Core Flow Basics, RollerWorks, and The Rotisserie DVD boxed set is available for $35. This set provides an excellent introduction to Core Flow Fitness and its unique fitness system.
